In a historic achievement, Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi Konidela was honored by the Guinness World Records on Sunday as the Most Prolific Film Star in Indian Cinema within the actor/dancer category. Over his 45-year career, the veteran actor has executed nearly 24,000 dance moves across 547 songs in 156 films. His diverse dance styles include pop, rock, jazz, hip hop, as well as western and Indian classical, showcasing his versatility and grace. The award was presented to the Godfather actor by Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and a representative from the Guinness Records team during a special ceremony in Hyderabad on September 22, coinciding with the anniversary of his film debut in 1978.

“This moment is unforgettable. I never expected to get the Guinness World Records, but it feels incredible to be honored for my dancing. All these years of my film career, dance has become part of my life,” Chiranjeevi said after receiving the certificate. “I owe this honor to the directors, producers, music directors and choreographers who made sure to showcase my dancing talents in films,” he added.

Aamir Khan, who was among the guests of honor at the event, said, “I am a huge fan of Chiranjeevi Garu and he is like my elder brother. When you watch any of his songs, you can see he has his whole heart in it. So our eyes refuse to stray from him because he is having such a great time, and we get infected with that, which is such a unique quality.”

While congratulating her father-in-law, Ram Charan’s wife Upasana Konidela wrote on X, “Congratulations to my Mamaya Megastar Chiranjeevi Garu for achieving the Guinness World Record as the Most Prolific Film Star in Indian Cinema, with 156 films and 24,000+ dance moves across 537 songs in 45 years!”.

In addition to her, notable figures from the Indian entertainment industry, including SS Rajamouli, Prabhudeva, and Rishab Shetty, congratulated the star on this remarkable achievement.

Throughout his 45-year career, Chiranjeevi has been awarded 9 Filmfare Awards, 3 Nandi Awards, and numerous government honors, including the prestigious Padma Bhushan in 2006 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2024.

He will next appear in the Telugu film Vishwambhara, set to be released in January 2025.
