For a second day, CABSAT 2024—the premier event for the media, entertainment, broadcast, and content industries in the Middle East—continued to showcase cutting-edge concepts, ideas, and solutions that are radically changing the media and entertainment landscape.

ZHU Yonglei, Vice Minister of the National Radio and Television Administration of the People's Republic of China (NRTA), paid a special visit to the event, which is organized by the Dubai World Trade Center and scheduled to run until May 23, 2024.

Over the course of three days, CABSAT 2024 is anticipated to draw in over 18,000 attendees from a variety of industries, including broadcast, digital, content, and satellite industries; these attendees, along with content buyers, sellers, producers, and distributors, will have the opportunity to learn a great deal about the prospects and current advancements in the media and entertainment sector.

The Content Congress and SATExpo Summit are two of the conference activities that CABSAT has scheduled for its 30th anniversary edition, and it has assembled an impressive speaker lineup. Attendees will get a great chance to learn about the cutting-edge solutions and technology that are transforming the media and entertainment industry through these talks.

The SATExpo Summit, which brought together regional and international satellite and space technology influencers including innovators, well-known executives, engineers, government officials, and a wide spectrum of solution suppliers, was a huge success on day two of the CABSAT 2024. The summit also included talks about future trends and trajectories, the global launch and manufacturing markets, and prominent firms' business plans, especially in light of artificial intelligence.

Keynote speakers included Elizebeth Varghese, Principal and Co-leader at Deloitte Consulting, USA; David Provencher, Vice President Business Development, AvL Technologies, USA; Joakim Espeland, CEO, QuadSat, Denmark; Jassem Nasser, Chief Business Development Officer of Yahsat; and Jan Stoop, VP Business Development, Comtech, USA. Dr. Leslie Klein, President and CEO of C-COM Satellite Systems Inc., Canada, and Virgil Labrador, Editor-in-Chief of Satellite Markets and Research, USA, spoke at an interesting Fireside Chat on "Phased Array Antennas for Next-Generation Mobility."

"On behalf of Thuraya & Yahsat, we are delighted we took part in the SATExpo Summit," remarked Jassem Nasser, Chief Business Development Officer of Yahsat, in reference to the event. Yahsat is leading the way in revolutionizing the satellite communications sector. As part of Yahsat's overall D2D and IoT strategy, which spans several industries and use cases, we are stepping up our efforts to go into new market verticals, building upon our success in major satellite communications areas. This is evident in our choice to merge satellite and cellular communications with Thuraya's launch of the SKYPHONE as well as in the numerous other innovative solutions we are working on.

"We were delighted to participate in the discussion on 'Advances in Antenna Registration Processes from Gateway to User Terminal,'" stated Joakim Espeland, CEO of QuadSat, Denmark. Important information on advancements in antenna testing and calibration, the application of sophisticated testing in calibration, and the prospects for antenna registration and calibration were revealed during the debate.

On day two of CABSAT 2024, the Content Congress proceeded in a similar manner, bringing together experts from the broadcast, media, and technology domains to examine ideas and trends that will impact the way people produce, connect, and monetize content. In addition to understanding cross-border and regional collaboration and how to take advantage of new opportunities presented by the expanding content creation economy, the workshop helped participants remain up to date on the latest developments in the rapidly evolving media environment.

Additionally, CABSAT is opening up its unique Brand Ambassador program to outstanding business leaders this year. This esteemed panel of professionals will influence the media and entertainment scene, start important dialogues amongst important stakeholders, and create chances that will help the MENA area become a sought-after location for the industry.
