Broadcasters Reverse Decision on Virat Kohli's Ranji Match

Virat Kohli has returned to Ranji Trophy after 12 years. Kohli will most likely make a comeback in the game between Delhi and railways. On January 29, a day before the match, the Indian Cricket Board changed their plans to live stream the match.

However, no initial arrangements had been made to telecast or webcast the match from the side of the BCCI. Still, with the inclusion of Virat Kohli in the team to play at Arun Jaitley Stadium, they now seem to have changed their initial plan. According to a DDCA official, he stated that they didn't know whether the BCCI was telecasting the match or not.

DDCA officials had said, “We don’t know if BCCI will make any last-minute arrangements since Kohli is playing, but we haven’t been intimated about the broadcast of this game. Normally, all big centres get one live game allotted (TV or streaming). We had a game against Tamil Nadu which was aired live. The roster for broadcast is set months in advance.”

BCCI official had also confirmed that “In the next round, the main match that will be televised as well as live-streamed is Karnataka versus Haryana atChinnaswamy. Two more matches will be streamed. One of those is Bengal vs Punjab at Eden Gardens. There is a streaming of a third match, but as of now, it doesn’t involve Delhi.”
