BCCI Reveals IPL Schedule for 2025 to 2027

The Indian Premier League 2025 will be played on March 14 and the final match is scheduled to be held on 25th of May. The dates for the following three seasons have been fixed, as the IPL governing council has addressed an official notification to all ten franchises. The 2026 season will be played from March 15 to May 31, meanwhile the 2027 season will take place from March 14 to May 30.

The IPL governing council has mentioned these tournament dates as windows, but it said these dates will be finalized for the final tournament.

The next 2025 tournament will have a total of 74 matches, the same as the previous three seasons. Though, this is ten matches less than the 84 originally projected by the IPL in 2022 when the media rights for the 2023-27 cycle were sold.

According to reports, the overseas players from most full-member countries have also got permission from their individual cricket boards to play for the next following three years in the IPL.

Cricket Australia has given permission to all its international and domestic players to feature in IPL 2025.Though, in 2026, Australia are scheduled to play a three-match ODI series in Pakistan, which Cricket Australia confirmed will “concluding no later than March 18.”

Australian players will join the IPL in 2026 after completing their series against Pakistan. The England and Wales Cricket Board has released a list of 18 centrally contracted players who will be available for the next three IPL seasons.

The mega bidding for the IPL 2025 season will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. Players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mitchell Starc, and Glenn Maxwell will all be there in this bidding.

A total of 574 players will be featured in the mega auction, including 366 Indian players, 208 overseas players, and 3 from associate nations.

The auction will also involve 318 uncapped Indian players and 12 uncapped overseas players.

204 slots will be available, with 70 spots open for overseas players. The highest reserve price is INR 2 Crore, with 81 players choosing to be in this top bracket.

The two-day Mega Auction will begin at 3 PM IST on November 24.
