BCCI Refuses to play in Pakistan for Championship Trophy 2025
The Pakistan Cricket Board is communicating with the International Cricket Council, after India did not accept traveling to Pakistan for the upcoming ICC Championship Trophy 2025.
According to sources, probably in the next two days, PCB will send a letter to the ICC, then they will follow the government`s instructions about the tournament.
Furthermore, Mohsin Naqvi stated, the PCB is planning to appeal to the ICC to mention solid reasons behind the Board of Control for Cricket in India for not accepting to travel Pakistan for the upcoming Championship Trophy 2025.
The tournament will be held in Pakistan in 2025.
Pakistan media declared that on Sunday, The ICC had sent a letter to the PCB that India won`t travel to Pakistan to participate in the Champions Trophy 2025.
From 2008, India has not traveled to Pakistan due to political links between both nations, its end when they played last Asia Cup.The arch-rivals played their last bilateral series in 2012-13 in India, which is a white ball series and now it mostly plays in ICC tournaments and Asia Cups.
BCCI Vice-president Rajeev Shukla stated, India will travel to Pakistan only if the Government of India gives permission.
India has firmly held the stance of not traveling to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Notably, Pakistan hosted the Asia Cup last year. However, the tournament was hosted in a hybrid model. India played its matches in Sri Lanka, and the rest of the matches were hosted in Pakistan.
