Barcelona Beat Real Madrid 3-2 to Lift Supercopa in Thrilling Clasico

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3–2 in a high-intensity Supercopa de España final in Jeddah, claiming their first trophy of the 2025–26 season after another gripping El Clasico.

Barcelona took the lead in the 36th minute when Raphinha finished a swift attacking move with a low strike into the corner. The opener reflected Barcelona’s control in midfield and their ability to break Madrid’s defensive line with pace and movement.

Real Madrid responded late in the first half through Vinícius Júnior, who produced a solo effort, cutting inside and finishing calmly to bring his side level in stoppage time.

The equaliser did not last long. Robert Lewandowski restored Barcelona’s advantage moments later, lifting a composed finish over the goalkeeper to make it 2–1 before the interval.

Madrid struck back again just before half-time. Gonzalo García reacted quickest inside the box after a defensive lapse, tapping in to send the teams into the break at 2–2 after a frenetic opening 45 minutes.

The decisive goal came in the 73rd minute. Raphinha struck from range, his shot taking a deflection and looping beyond the goalkeeper to complete his brace and put Barcelona back in front. The goal proved decisive despite sustained pressure from Madrid in the closing stages.

Barcelona were reduced to ten men late on when Frenkie de Jong was shown a straight red card, forcing them into a defensive shape for the final minutes. Real Madrid pushed forward, creating chances and forcing saves, but Barcelona held their line and managed the closing stages effectively.
