A.R. Rahman Earns 2 Nominations for 'Aadujeevitham' Songs at Hollywood Music in Media Awards

The film Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life by Prithivraj Sukumaran is in the running for awards at the 2024 Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA). “periyone,” a song composed by AR Rahman and sung by Jithin Raj, has been nominated in the ‘Song-Feature Film’ segment. The latter was penned by Rahman and Rafiq Ahamed respectively.

Moreover, Rahman has also received a nomination for his contributions to the score for Aadujeevitham in the Score-Independent Film (Foreign Language) category at this year’s Women in Film aH Awards.

The HMMAs, which stand for the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, are also held by the Hollywood Music in Media Academy and they incorporate all original music, songs as well as scores, for use in any audio-visual media including film, television, videos, game trailers, advertising, documentaries and specials.

In its 2024 edition, HMMA nominees acknowledgments demonstrate a variety of more than a hundred songwriters, composers, performers, and films. Pop icons Elton John, Brandi Carlile, Miley Cyrus, Lainey Wilson, and Pharrell Williams, as well as composers Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, Kris Bowers, and Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, are among the nominees. The awards show will be held on 20th November, at the auspicious Avalon Theatre, Los Angeles.

Singer Jithin Raj also shared a post on Instagram about the nomination for the song "Periyone," expressing his gratitude to the movie's director Blessy and Rahman for their "support and the opportunity." He congratulated all the nominees, adding, "Here's to celebrating the magic of music and cinema."

Based on the bestselling 2008 novel ‘Aadujeevitham’ by Benyamin, ‘The Goat Life’ tells the true story of Najeeb, a young man from Kerala who, in the early '90s, travels to a foreign land in search of a better future.

Produced by Visual Romance, the film stars Amala Paul and KR Gokul, with Hollywood actor Jimmy Jean-Louis and Arab actors Talib al Balushi and Rik Aby playing key roles.
