Apple Vision Pro Launches immersive Content featuring NBA players, the Weeknd and others

Apple presented its upcoming lineup of immersive video content for Vision Pro on Thursday. The lineup includes exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the 2024 NBA All-star Weekend, an immersive performance by the Weeknd, as well as new series, films, concerts, and additional content.

The Headset debuted in February Featuring over 150 3D movies and immersive titles. Apple is now introducing new content, beginning with tonight’s premiere of “Boundless”. The series invites viewers to embark on global adventures, from hot air balloon rides over Cappadocia, Turkey, to observing surfers catching waves in the Arctic Circle.

In its recent announcement, Apple previewed additional upcoming content, such as a short film showcasing the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend game in Indianapolis, starring basketball icons Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Lebron James. Scheduled for release this autumn, the film provides viewers with courtside access to events like the Rising Stars Challenge and slam dunk contest. 

Later this year, Apple plans to introduce an immersive concert featuring The Weeknd, adding to the artist-related experiences available on Vision pro, such as Alicia keys providing a glimpse into a rehearsal session. 

Furthermore, an upcoming film titled “Red Bull: Big-Waves Surfing,” scheduled for later this year, follows surfers attempting to navigate the barrel of the world’s most formidable wave in Teahupo’o, Tahiti. Meanwhile, the forthcoming short film “Submerged” is set aboard a Navy submarine during World War ll.

Another episode of “WildLife” is on the horizon. The upcoming installment of this nature documentary series will premiere next month, featuring keepers from Kenya’s Sheldrick Wildlife Trust caring for Orphaned elephants.

Throughout the year, Apple pledges to deliver additional immersive video content and aims to empower more filmmakers to create on Apple Immersive Video through its collaboration with Blackmagic Design, a video editing software and hardware company.
