Ajay Devgn's 'Raid 2' Earns Rs 4.94 Cr in Advance Sales, Eyes Big Box Office Start
Ajay Devgn’s upcoming thriller Raid 2 is shaping up to make a splash at the box office, raking in Rs 4.94 crore in advance ticket sales for its opening day on May 1, 2025. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, this sequel to the 2018 hit Raid has already sold over 1.08 lakh tickets nationwide, bringing in Rs 2.87 crore, with reserved seats boosting the total, according to industry reports.
Starring Devgn, Vaani Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saurabh Shukla, Raid 2 dives back into the intense world of income tax raids and corruption that struck a chord with audiences last time. Maharashtra is leading the charge with Rs 1.23 crore in pre-sales, followed by Delhi at Rs 83 lakh, showing strong excitement in cities and smaller towns alike.
Fans and analysts are hopeful about Raid 2 giving Devgn a much-needed win after recent films like Singham Again, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, and Maidaan didn’t quite hit the mark. The early ticket sales look promising, and if the movie gets good reviews, it could keep pulling crowds through the long weekend. Raid 2 will go head-to-head with Marvel’s Thunderbolts, also hitting theaters on May 1, which might split the audience.
Producer Bhushan Kumar shared his thoughts, saying, “Streaming platforms have changed how people watch movies since COVID, but Raid 2’s gripping story is made for the big screen.” While the film’s pre-sales don’t match the massive buzz of Singham Again (which earned Rs 15.43 crore before release), bookings have jumped 105% in the last day, hinting at growing excitement.
With Devgn’s powerful performance and a strong supporting cast, Raid 2 is banking on its thrilling plot to pull in last-minute moviegoers. As the industry keeps a close eye, tomorrow’s opening will be key to seeing if Raid 2 can deliver the blockbuster Devgn fans are rooting for.
