Airtel Restructures its Internal Management and Decouples its DTH Operations
In order to create two new verticals—Connected Homes, which encompasses Broadband and convergent Entertainment—Bharti Airtel will separate its Direct-to-Home (DTH) business from the convergent entertainment sector.
The current CEO of DTH, Siddharth Sharma, will take on the roles of CEO and Director of Marketing at Connected Homes.
Gujral, who is now Upper North's CEO, will take over as DTH's CEO and director.
Shivan Bhargava is the director of Airtel's Customer Experience division, which is also being divided off into a separate department.
Directing all circles and distribution strategy, Amit Tripathi, who is now Director of Marketing and Customer Experience, has been appointed Director of Market Operations.
Shashwat Sharma, the recently hired MD and CEO, will get reports from these executives. By April 1, 2025, all of the new hires will be in their roles.
With a presence in all 22 telecom circles, Airtel Bharti operates around 42,053 telecom towers under its subsidiary Bharti Infratel Limited (on a standalone basis). Both standard and high definition (HD) digital TV services with Dolby surround sound are available on its Direct-To-Home (DTH) network.
