1 Billion Followers Summit Announces New Programs for the Forthcoming Third Edition
The New Media Academy's 1 Billion Followers Summit has made many announcements for its highly anticipated third edition, including the introduction of new ambassadors, a financing scheme, and a $1 million reward for purpose-driven content.
The announcement follows preliminary discussions conducted from June 6 to 8 at Emirates Towers in Dubai. The sessions, which brought together over 25 worldwide experts and content producers, were successful in shaping a rich and engaging program for the upcoming edition, "Content for Good," which will take place from January 11 to 13, 2025.
Her Excellency According to Alia Al Hammadi, CEO of the New Media Academy, the 1Billion Followers Summit reflects the visions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to establish the UAE as a global hub for the digital economy, as well as his directives to create the ideal conditions to attract creatives and innovators capable of enriching the Arab and global media landscapes.
She emphasized the summit's objective of driving good change in the digital media ecosystem, building on the success of past editions that drew substantial worldwide attention."The upcoming edition underscores 1Billion Followers Summit's mission to drive positive impact both regionally and globally,fueled by the groundbreaking ideas generated during these preparatory meetings," Al Hammadi said.
Key efforts and programs
The Summit's preliminary sessions announced a US $1 million reward for content creators whose work fits the "Content for Good" idea and has a beneficial influence on community.
The audience will be able to submit their favorite content producers for this award, and the shortlisted finalists will be determined by public voting, with the final winners chosen by a panel of experts during the three-day summit.
The discussions also revealed the 1B Pitches, a crucial program for the next summit and an endeavor to give cash and support to content producers with game-changing ideas. The initiative demonstrates the summit's commitment to promoting innovation and supporting media and content entrepreneurs.
Participants will be able to present their ideas to prominent investors and corporations looking to fund creative solutions. Interested persons are urged to submit their ideas via the summit's website.
The discussions also revealed the 1 Billion Followers Summit Ambassadors, Ahmed El Ghandour and the Anazala Family, including Anas Marwah and Asala Maleh, who will assist promote the event and expand its goal, with more ambassadors to be disclosed later.
El Ghandour is recognized for his famous YouTube program "Al Daheeh" and was named one of the Arab world's most important personalities in 2018. Marwah and Asala are the creators of the successful Anazala family YouTube channel, which has achieved three Guinness World Records and earned the Kids' Choice Award.
